Three MCCAA Women’s Soccer Programs Enter 2024 Season Ranked
The NJCAA released its preseason women's soccer rankings on Monday (August 12) and the MCCAA had representation in two polls. The trio of ranked teams to start the 2024 campaign is a nod to the incredible soccer that played out in the MCCAA in 2023 and the talent the teams bring to the pitch this season.
In Division III, 2023 MCCAA Champion and perennial power Delta College checks in at No. 2 nationally, four points behind top-ranked Dallas College-Brookhaven. The Pioneers went 23-1-0 last year, including a perfect 15-0-0 slate in the MCCAA, with their lone loss coming to Dallas-Brookhaven in the national championship game.
The Division II preseason rankings boasted a pair of MCCAA programs as Schoolcraft College made its annual appearance in the poll at No. 11. Kellogg Community College, the 2023 Region XII Division II Champions, slots in four spots back of the Ocelots at No. 15 in the preseason rankings.
The Ocelots finished the 2023 campaign at 18-7-0 overall and 14-2-0 in league play and went on to receive an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division II National Championship. The first-time Region Champion Bruins finished last season at 13-6-3 overall (9-5-2 MCCAA) with their incredible run ending in a hard-fought overtime contest in the Great Lakes District Championship.
The 2024 season officially gets underway next week (August 22)! The MCCAA wishes all member programs a healthy and successful 2024 season!
