The NJCAA announced the 2024-25 Academic Teams of the Year (team) and All-Academic Teams (individual) on Thursday (July 24) and the MCCAA was well-represented as over 80 teams and over 530 student-athletes earned recognition. Kirtland Community College men's bowling and Jackson College women's bowling took home the top GPA nationally in their respective sport to earn the distinction of NJCAA Academic Team of the Year Champions.
To achieve NJCAA Academic Team of the Year status, a team must post a 3.0 or above GPA in the current academic year (2024-25) and meet all other NJCAA qualifications. To view the full list of NJCAA Academic Team of the Year award winners, visit: NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year
As for individual All-Academic Team recognition, student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.60 or higher while passing 24 or more credit hours in the current academic year (NJCAA exemptions and additional qualifications apply). The GPA requirements for the three All-Academic Teams are:

- NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
- NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
In all, over 530 MCCAA student-athletes posted a 3.60 or above GPA for the 2024-25 academic year with 126 recording a perfect 4.0 GPA to earn NJCAA All-Academic First Team status. To view a full list of all student-athlete award winners, visit: NJCAA All-Academic Awards
Note: the NJCAA and MCCAA differ in requirements to earn academic honors so not all student-athletes and teams with the requisite GPA listed will qualify.
